How Awards Work

Here at
studio of piano I like to acknowledge goals and progress in a way that is tangible and measurable. Acknowledging progress builds self confidence and improves self esteem. You can see the results not just in the studio but in everyday life as students are more expressive and self confident.
Here are how the Awards Program is Structured:
The total number of points will begin from the first lesson in September and end with the last lesson before the Fall Recital. If the total number of weeks during this period of time is 10 weeks, then the total number of points available to the student is 50.
An Awards Ribbon will be awarded based on the student acheivment to the student at the Recital for the total number of points earned. The grade range could be but is not limited to a 10 point scale. For example:
- 50-40 points = Gold Award
- 30-20 points = Silver Award
- 10 and under = Honorable Mention
Earning Award Points
- If the students weekly assignment is played within 15 minutes of the lessons they earn 5 points
- If the students weekly assignment is played within 20 minutes of the lessons they earn 4 points
- If the students weekly assignment is played within 25 minutes of the lessons they earn 3 points
- If the students weekly assignment is played within 30 minutes of the lessons they earn 2 points
